I wanted to be one of the first to send congratulations to the new IHLGF
Champion, Oleg Golovidov. Oleg's IHLGF victory and the seemingly impossible
feat of beating Joe Wurts put him in a very rare class. The only other
person to beat Joe Wurts at the IHLGF is Daryl Perkins who did it back to
back
It was another great year for the International Handlaunch Glider Fest
in Poway CA. The contest was particularly challenging this year with
overcast conditions through the contest with alternating very light and
moderate lift. There was also not as much wind this year resulting in
many fewer off

In case the producers of the tape are out there, I also found the video very
entertaining. I even started to feel the heat on my back and the pressure
of that crazy electronic buzzer, just like I did at the contest (how is that
for capturing the reality)! Thumbs up from me!

Just got my copy of the video produced by Paul Naton and filmed by Dave
Reese for Radio Carbon Art at this year's IHLGF.
I had to get on the exchange and make note of how great a job they have
done with their latest production. There is excellent footage and
