I use ultracote light. Very easy to apply with an iron, medium temp to
stick, high to shrink.

I just got a new color of Monokote its a Neon Yellow and thought it
would be a great color for my Genie Pro's tail feathers I'm building.
But the result was not what I wanted. Ive used the other opac colors

I believe the covering is Oracover but am not sure where you can get it
locally. Hobby Lobby now sells Low Temperature Polycover which I think is
equivalent though I have not tried it.

Frank,
I strongly suggest covering the wing all in white first, then adding the
stripes. Be sure to make a pattern of the original wing decoration before
removing the original covering, as that will save you a TON of work later
cutting it out and placing it. If the decoration sticks to the white

Here's another way to cover a balsa over foam wing that I have found works
quite well and does not seem to impose a weight penalty as with epoxy.
1. Use water based urethane finish. It goes on easy and produces a hard
surface. It can be painted or left natural. Some folks apply UltraKote or

If no one has mentioned it yet, get your self a box of 100 razor blades. Cutting
covering dulls blades very quickly, so don't be shy about using them once and throwing
them away. It sucks when you are slicing off a piece of excess trailing edge
covering, only to have the blade go dull and cre

Tack cloth and/or vacuum before covering. Even fine dust will telegraph
through. Which reminds me... monocote won't hide a poor
sanding job.
Have fun.

My brother has a DAW TG-3 which he covered with
Ultracote.
I have some foam models that I covered with tape.
I have ordered a Zagi-400.
Can I cover it with Ultracote AFTER the strapping tape
is applied? I know that I have to give it a coat of 3M77.

Patrick,
The problem with trying to use anything else but Monokote is that the Paragon wing
derives most of its strength from the covering.
The wing is not D-tube construction,
just open-bay. I speak from experience. I recovered one of my Paragons with a woven,
ironable covering. The first f
