If you can ping numeric IP addresses then I'm assuming its your DNS that
needs setting up. See the FAQ question 4.13

which the rpms use. Must update the docs Has anyone suggested moving
the documentaion over to DocBook? I might give it a go once I've read up

have noted CRC errors whilst these downloads are happening. We really
shouldn't see CRC errors that often (especially at the rates most people

Pretty much every problem that is intermitent has been a result of a) dodgy
USB hardware or b) poorly supported USB hardware. There was a patch that
introduced delays in pppoa3 but it did affect overall throughput. Search the
mailing list archives for details.

Probably. You can run the drivers quite succesufully with the latest 2.2

peer ppp address and then your ISP's DNS servers).

Have you checked:
a) ifconfig returns an configured ppp0
b) you can ping ip addresses (eg the DNS server)

That was francios making a change to fix the BSD compile. francois what
version of make are you using? This could involve yet another autoconf
hack to have the two versions as the .if syntax is not in GNU make.

On a side note I have been in contact with Thompson Multimedia to see if we
can get distribution rights for the microcode but I'm currently waiting on
someone getting back from holiday. I shall let the group once I
activation command
and then closes it once its done (or does it just exit). If it goes down
cleanly surely modem_run could try and open it again if it was run a
second time to see if anything was running?

The current CVS or last snapshot will build good RPM's for a mandrake
box (I've tested). Just setup speedtouch.conf in /etc/
get from CVS and type:
make rpm
and install the RPM on your system. Yes they have improved since last
august.
