to set up your own Sync 1.1 server in 2.49.5. The 1.1 code was removed in later Gecko versions. There is a bug open to fix it and support 1.5 but this needs a Firefox account. Personally I don't think sync 1.5 will ever happen and I would rather restore 1.1 in 2.53 and up versions. Then w

Firefox now uses sync 1.5. The old sync is 1.1 and discontinued. You might be able to set up your own sync 1.1 server but the code has been gutted in the latest versions. Not sure if it still works in 2.49.1 Porting 1.5 probably will never happen or not in the near future. Tightly integrated

Sync 1.5 has not been ported yet and with all the crap going on with Fx I am not sure it is a good idea anyway. You need a Firefox account and everything is tightly coupled to Mozilla. So no for official sync. You could probably still set up your own Sync 1.1 server in 2.46 to 2.49 as mentioned
