If you are in the US, you never had to activate WE. I think in some countries
you had to have a dongle
and place it on a thumb
drive or CD and then you'll have it for as long as you wish to use Window Eyes.

As for the Office version of WE, as far as I know, WE detects whether Office
2010 or later is present

It might not be legal, but if you bought WE and they won't provide a copy for
you I don't see why you could not use another copy.
