Hi Ben,
I don't have contact directly with AGIV. I hear alot through Bestuurszaken
though.

Pieter sent me credentials for the WMS, WFS servers of Toerisme Vlaanderen.
While working my way through the manual of QGIS, this seemed like a good
way to practice...
So I connected to the WFS server and found the cycling node network's nodes
and routes.
QGIS makes it trivial to convert these
Hi,

I'm not sure what we can implement there because the suggestions here are a
huge amount for work.
@pieter: who is your contact at AGIV? I was talking to Tom Van Herck and
they seemed eager to release some of their

My killer application to show them would be a single website that
combines the following functionality:
If you really want a killer App, you should make this in HTML5, which
brings local storage (offline use) and other goodies to make it feel
Glenn,
did you take a look at wandelknooppunt.be ? It shows all the walking
network nodes. You can click on the nodes and it compiles a route from
that, following the walking network routes between the numbered nodes. A
similar thing exists for cyclist.

As soon as they do, give us a sign. I have a script to do quality control
on the node networks. This can be expanded quite easily to compare to an
upstream source. Noël is also the person who has helped with getting
permission to publish the data from De Lijn.

Hello,
If there is someone who wants to join me I'm prepared to make an appearance
at the Random Hacks of Kindness. I'm very interested in this anyway related
to developing countries. And if it's usefull for OSM or to get more open
data I'm there! :-)
Met vriendelijke groeten,
Best regards,
Ben
I had been considering to go to Karlsruhe that weekend, but this is nearer
and possibly more worthwhile, so I'm subscribed now. Being a minimalist and
given my name is a well guarded secret I subscribed as Jo Jo :-)
I hope more people will attend though. I need to rest for an hour around
noon
Nice! I was also thinking about Karlsruhe but it was expensive to go last
time and I didn't really get any work done. Maybe next time...
I will have to check with my girlfriend first and see if she will give me
permission to go that weekend! :-) I'll get back to you when I'm sure I can
join...
You should simply bring her along. She's hot too, I mean into HOT

On a more serious note. It's not entirely clear to me yet how facilitating

Importing this data into OSM is never going to work I think, but just like
the AGIV data, it can be used to aid mapping. This way we can get the data
into OSM to a quality level even exceeding the original data. Something I'm
sure data providers are interested in.
We are doing a similar thing

Hi Marc,
I totally agree!
Are you going to help out at Random Hacks of Kindness yourself or is this
only an idea for us to implement? Would be great to collaborate :)
Kind regards,
Pieter

This is really interesting! I am trying to get data from AGIV itself as
well as open data, but there is a lot of resistance from that corner sadly.
Kind regards,
