Hi
I apologize if this is not the place to post this, but I've been looking
around and have not found anywhere to do this.
To frame this... I teach grad students and use the classic TiddlyWiki (I'll
update to the new version over academic break one of these days) as a shell
to organize course
TWEdit will let you edit and save the classic tiddlywiki :)

One thing I've done is keep a copy of an older, portable version
(portableapps.com) of firefox as extra insurance. If the update doesn't work, I
have an older copy of firefox I can fall back on.

1) What are your favorite features of TiddlyWiki – Classic?
I like the flexibility - it seems like you can do pretty much anything with TW-C
2.) What plug-ins (if any) do you consider essential for TiddlyWiki – Classic?
1) ForEachTiddler (this ought to be included in the core it is so useful)
2)
I'm coming in way late to this discussion, and know a lot less than others on
this, but I wonder
1) can you switch browsers - chome (portable or not) or safari maybe - either
for your tw -or- for your browsing throughout the day?
2) can you use an older version of portable firefox just for your
Hi All
No takers huh? :)
Here's what I've come up with to tell which copy of my tiddlywiki is the
newest. I open and save the default tiddler quickly when I'm done working
on my ipad for the moment - that only takes a second to do. In that
tiddler is this bit of code:
forEachTiddler where
Hi All
I'm trying to do something with document.lastModified - while this may be a
browser issue I have to just live with, here's what I'm stumped with:
1) insert some code in the default tiddler to show the
document.lastModified date and save a tiddlywiki. Let's say the time is
exactly
If you have an image and a thumbnail of it, you use the bracket notation to
show the thumbnail image and make it a clickable to show the larger image or to
show a document or something...
You have to make the images and then thumbnails yourself first though I
don't know of any plugin or
Hi
I don't know if my reply went through (I hate Google groups on an ipad)...
1) I don't know about the image slides (and can't review exactly what you asked
as I type this because I can't see your post as I reply... did I mention I hate
Google groups on the ipad), but the filedrop plugin
Eric at his site (http://www.tiddlytools.com/) has an attachfile plugin that
lets you embed a file (image file in this case) in the tiddlywiki with some
dropdown boxes (so it's easy to use)
I don't think it works with internet explorer, but does with everything else
pretty much...

Wait - sorry - I re-read your post There's another plugin (filedrop plugin)
there that lets you drag-and-drop a file (document, image, whatever) onto the
tiddlywiki and create a link automatically to it But I think it only works
in firefox...

What's your configuration?
I've run several tiddlywikis with it - one I used for my course website with my
notes and all for each week, one that hold all my tasks and projects, and one I
use to take notes about my advisees with. I used to back it up to tiddlyspot
without a problem, but like
TWMobile in the app store will run a tiddlywiki just fine, and let you save it
to dropbox.
The current release (2.2) has a problem but the author has a temporary fix
while apple reviews 2.3...

Hey Trev
I don't know that I will know much on this, but...
The gtdwiki seems owned by nathan bowers. The site registration is still good
until July, so he still has the name. However, I don't see any pages an his
site so maybe a server is down, maybe he ended his site... You could try to
I'll take a stab a this. I do something like that with the toggletag plugin
and the foreachtiddler plugin
http://mptw.tiddlyspot.com/#ToggleTagPlugin
http://tiddlywiki.abego-software.de/#ForEachTiddlerPlugin
Make the tiddlers that include the standard language, and tag them SectionOne

I can only add a small amount to this discussion.
1) Tiddlywiki is in my mind the best software I've ever used. Thanks
Eric and Jeremy!
2) Tiddlywiki and google groups is great for the geeky amongst us...
but there are a whole lot of non-geeky people out there.
Aye, there's the rub.
There's a
I too found this error frustrating and a little confusing. The things
I read online all seem directed toward working with a tiddlywiki on a
server or across servers, which didn't help me figure out what to do
on a local computer
I don't know if it addresses this issue really, or if it only
Hi All
My thanks - this has been helpful and interesting!
I would recommend (in your spare time Jeremy) that you should formally
write something about this - I think TiddlyWiki is really amazing
software, and a good case study too for how open source can work :)
As for what I presented... If
Hi All
Maybe this is out there and I just can't find it... but I'm doing a
presentation next week for teachers on using a TiddlyWiki for class
websites. I wanted to just include a brief bit about the history of the
Tiddlywiki project - when it started, how long before it took off, why
