Choosing My Music caused it to hang - it couldn't use LMS.
LMS shows MySB but when the servers are down there's no list, obviously.

Thanks, kids - didn't see that as I was typing the above but that's
pretty well exactly what I did.
Kind of surprising that when MySB was down SBT wouldn't connect to LMS
(which obviously couldn't see MySB either).
Hmm.
I may have solved this but don't understand why in detail.
With SBT playing a station I shut down the PC. SBT stopped playing as
expected.
I used the SBT remote to go back to Favourites and then forward to
select a station. Error message saying can't connect. I then tried to
connect to
Touch (SBT) is running with mysqueezebox.com.
It hasn't been working during the recent outages.
Figure me this:-
During the outages SBT would not access the PC and LMS.
MySB is back but SBT won't play stations until LMS is running - it used
to.
MySB says my device is disconnected.
Something
Ah, that figures.

There was no uninstall/install just updates - to the app and iOS, which

Yes, I have LMS and the Touch is also used to play music from the PC.
My guess is that both apps have been updated since I last used them and
needed to be connected to Mysqueezebox again (I just found out how to do
it on iPeng, too).
OK, at least it's now asking for mysqueezebox login details.
I never had set up anything for the app so what gives? Nothing in
mysqueezebox either.

My iThing is on the network.
Gave the apps a long time to run. No good.
iPeng are in touch which is VERY good.
Orange Squeeze crashed the phone so it appears to be non supported. It
didn't see anything. But - it's running differently now - let me check.
Although the Squeezebox is used every day, it's been a long time since I
used iPeng and Orange Squeeze.
Last night I tried iPeng: disaster. It no longer finds the Touch ("Your
player can't be found") though it does find the music folder on my PC.
If I try to play a track all I get is the track

What a kerfuffle! Sheer madness to merely get USB to work.

I've posted before about the SBT continually dropping out. Now it's also
another radio and also TV, so clearly it's a (wireless) connection

With this in mind I bought a powerline system (UK, TP-Link) but whilst a

using the SBT; it's still empty. I use a library folder with the same

As to your other points:-
1. No shortcuts.
This is an ongoing fault.
Initially, LMS scanned the music folder OK but soon got out of sync.
Now, most folders in LMS point to to completely wrong music.
The SBT itself is useless - it cannot play what is in the music folder:

The SBT is an OK image viewer except that brightness is dimmed once a
