"official" version
number of SBS is changed, but currently this "official" version is
still 7.5.3, so you have to manually "force" the update to 7.5.4 (or
wait till 7.5.4 is made official...).

nt to take the manual update route, we can hope
that the 7.5.4 will soon be officially released, and have this bug
definitely fixed...
Too bad this optimization wasn't done earlier !

Do you mean that the method using the CLI does not change the setting in

Anyway, I will try that when I have the time (in a couple of days), and

So my conclusion is the following : TinySC uses far more CPU when
playing music files from a huge database.
What could be the explanation ?
Can we expect an optimization of the CPU usage in a future release of
SBS or is the hardware of the Touch too limited, an

Steve: The 1.5 To HDD used with TinySC is FAT32 formatted (the Touch
does not support a HFS formatted disc directly connected to it). I
formatted my drive by using the Disk Utility on my Mac.

in this thread, I saw mentions of the jive command, but not of this

Again, any help would be grea

workaround I found is to press the "+" key to have the contextual menu,
and select the reading of the whole album, but that's not very
satisfactory.
Perhaps there is another parameter to set in the serve
usic, and just use a
silent, fanless drive near your audio equipment. But of course, if your
PC is in another room, it's a different matter, and it could be more
efficient to use a HDD connected to the PC, with all the advantages of
the "full" version of SBS (in particular the f

OK, now what happens when using TinySC ? Are there several FLAC to PCM

So, can you precisely explain what John means by "streaming FLAC" and
