Trisquel is derived from Ubuntu, which is a bit like Debian Testing.
We're using the Linux Libre kernel, not the Ubuntu or Debian, however.
Abrowser is more up-to-date than iceweasel (in Wheezy, anyway).
Startup and shutdown times are still a bit longer than those of Ubuntu.

You can reinstall, but make sure that your '/home' partition gest
mounted, but not formatted. When you set up your initial user, make
sure her/his name is same as in original install. Note, you'll have to
use the advanced partition setup.

If the 4.0 images that are written with the 'dd' command aren't
bootable, you may have to use a tool like the usb creator from another
version or a tool like unetbootin. The latter is available in a ppa,

'.face.png' in your home directory; next time you login, your new pic
will be the icon.

If you want to disable the automatic startup of orca, go to Universal
Access, in the Gnome Control Center. On the 'Seeing' tab, you can
toggle the Screen Reader setting off. Also, you can remove orca from
your system with
sudo apt-get remove gnome-orca
