I transcribed most of the Ubuntu Screencasts subtitles and as a guide it
took me around 4-5 hours for a 30 min video. Granted, I'm not a fast
typist and each line had to be sync'ed with the video/audio properly
afterwards, so I'm sure this project will be much quicker.

Coloquei hoje um HD como slave formatado em FAT32 para servir de ponte
para transferência de arquivos entre o Ubuntu e um W98.
Este foi reconhecido e montado pelo Ubuntu, porém não habilita
permissões (root) para inserir arquivos ou modificar os arquivos que
estão nele pelo Ubuntu.
Qual
Vai nas propriedades da unidade (locais-meu computador-unidade) e veja a
aba permissões. Claro que o ideal seria voce executar isso com o nautilus
sob o root (gksu nautilus). Também poderá faze-lo através do arquivo
/etc/fstab, mas o google está cheio de como fazê-lo.

Me desculpe, realmente não fucei o Google, apenas alguns tópicos da
lista mas falhou a minha ram e não compreendi bem como lidar com isto,
daí a questão.
Pelo terminal como sudo vai tranquilo, mas pelo Nautilus... vou dar uma
lida com mais calma, depois retorno.

Fui pelo Storage Device Manager e alterei nas opções de montagem o fmask
e dmask que eram 227 para 000, usando aquela regrinha do chmod
777-777=000.
O meu erro estava em tentar fazer estas alterações pelas propriedades da
mídia sem estar como root. Custei a dar o play na ram, estava em
Elmario,
Eu comprei um cartão de 2GB e um adaptador. Não conseguia endereçar
tudo. Daí eu particionei o cartão e funciona bem. Será que é possível
fazer o mesmo no seu caso?

Dê uma conferida nos DNSs que constam no W e no Ubuntu, se estiverem
diferentes, utilize o do W no Ubuntu.
Isto ocorreu com uma das máquinas e não entendi porque o DNS estava
alterado... vá lá entender. Alterei e pronto, voilá.

gerenciador de atualizações ou ate mesmo o apt-get ao mesmo tempo?
