the Firefox 3.6 that resulted from my Ubuntu upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04.

This issue has been SOMEWHAT resolved in the final release. On the first
of two tries with a CD-ROM burned from the ISO that I downloaded on Apr
29, 2010, the machine booted nicely, I checked the disk for errors
(none) and then entered into a Live session without any problems
whatsoever. However,
System testing suggests that this bug IS RESOLVED in the 10.04 FINAL
RELEASE that I downoaded on Apr 29, 2010. Note that both internal
speaker output and internal microphone proved workable.

I installed Ubuntu 9.10 RC using Wubi.exe on Windows XP partition for
system testing purposes on my Asus A2H (A2500H). After bug #460009 hung
the System Testing software, I rebooted, then restarted System testing,
skipping Audio and Fingerprint Reader tests. This time
After reporting this bug, I told System Testing that this test was 'No',
it collected system data, asked a further question at which time I check
marked disk permission denied, and in the next step System Testing
disappeared from the system (aborted?) without a trace and presumably
not
I performed this test running System Testing on Ubuntu 9.10 RC when
installed on my Asus A2H (A2500H) Laptop using wubi.exe on Windows XP
partition. As I followed the hint of James Dearing, my suspicion is that
the System Testing module doesn't work.

I reported this bug as #447624, when testing Ubuntu 9.10 Beta in Live!
mode on an Asus A2H (A2500H) laptop. It is still present after
installing Ubuntu 9.10 RC using Wubi.exe on Windows XP partition. As
otherwise reported, System testing shows a variety of Modes detected in
the previous step, but
Problem still present on Ubuntu 9.10 RC on my Asus A2H (A2500H).
Note that I am not sure that this machine has an internal microphone!

Permission denied seems appropriate for a System Test run in Live! mode.
Thus I think that the bug is resolved in Ubuntu 9.0 RC.

Note that I just updated the bug about an hour so ago after testing with
Ubuntu 9.10 RC to report that I am still having problems with both the
internal microphone (if I have one) as well as an external microphone on
an Asus A2H (or A2500H) laptop!
Something must be wrong SOMEWHERE if the
