There is a display option for security and other updates but I didn't
realize it did it even with checking for updates turned off.

Another idea that would be really useful if possible is: if somebody who
knows packaging could hold an open workshop, where we each pick a
package and walk through it step by step to submission stage. Being able
to ask questions real time would really help.

One nitpick I would have is to perhaps in audio, graphics, video scenes,
