Actually I have that problem with the N95 too - it only works if you
leave it plugged in and then power down the machine. Then, magically,
the "USB cable is safe to remove"...
It doesn't seem to cause data corruption if you unmount it and then

it's a shame because the splash screens on startup are now really pleasant,
but when you get onto the desktop it's very 1990s... granted, it is easy
enough to change but first impressions do often count...
