ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver for the Integrated ATI
Radeon HD 4250 GPU on my PC's motherboard.
CURRENT RESPONSE: Black screen
On my laptop this problem has been somewhat alleviated by moving the
external VGA display (on the right-hand side of the laptop display) two
pixels to the right, so that the external monitor begins at 1368+0
(instead of 1366+0). Now there is no vertical stripe overflowing from
the right-hand edge

Just wanted to say thanks. This latest driver is working as advertised
(edgle scrolling both vert and horz but no 2 finger scrolling). It
makes the touch pad much more usable.
FYI system info - Toshiba Satellite R845-S80
Looking forward to 2-finger scrolling
FYI: after installing at first
I tried the newly posted alps-reg-dump above and got an endless string
of output to the terminal. I had to ctrl-c to end it. Note I also
totally lost support for the trackpad. end of out and xpinut --list

Without a cursor in the password box, I cannot tell if it has focus. If
it does not have focus, it would be unsafe to type a password. It seems
to always have focus, but it really needs a cursor so it is clear.

I think I have the same problem. I just built a system using an Asrock
Z68 Pro motherboard (Intel Z68 chipset) and an Intel i5-2500K
(sandybridge). When using a PCI graphics card, things work fine (and I'm
sure they would with a PCIe card, as well). When using the sandybridge's
GPU, Ubuntu locks
