MSFT Touchpad not work
Lenovo R7000P Laptop. Sadly, still not a good solution. The touch pad
now works with kernel 5.11.0, but it has problem with Nvidia GPU and the
brightness control is not working. I can have Nvidia GPU working and
manually do some fixes to enable brightness control with 5.8.0, though
touch pad is not
FWIW I have been plagued with this same issue for a long time now and
the libinput_debounce_time.patch above* fixes the problem for me.
Obviously hard coding these values is a bad idea -- will this ever get
fixed properly?
* I had to adjust it to get it to apply on my LM20 system
(libinput-1.15.5

Sorry for the delay, my laptop decided it didn't want to use the monitor
when booting from a live CD for some reason, took me a while to figure
out a way around that.
I was able to boot into the Jan 31 nightly, and recreated the problem.
Screen came back on and xev logged a Control_L less than 5 m

with a running gnome-shell 3.10 session, i upgraded to the latest
2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6.1 xorg-server packages. then noticed that gnome-shell
would periodically freeze up for almost a minute at a time.
downgrading those packages to 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6 seems to have fixed the
issue

After receiving this error, I found apt was broken with error messages

The workaround seems to be to manually install whatever package is
mentioned in the error (in this case, libtinfo5) like:

went back to the oneiric kernel after it didn't work, but uname at the
time was definitely showing 3.2.0-12-generic ; do you need me to
reinstall and verify more info from uname -a?

i have an external monitor (1920x1200 resolution) that, when set to
1920x1080 resolution (native resolution of laptop display), garbles the
screen as seen in the screenshot attached to bug 813566. The problem
doesn't happen using the catal

Installed copy is working using the Nouveau driver. Tried to switch by
just disabling the "post-release updates" entry in the 3rd party drivers
applet. Rebooted and same problem. This might be because I'd created
an xorg.conf in the process of trying to fix my problem. It still
listed the "nvid
Problem appears using Nvidia's driver, but not with NOUVEAU. Targeting
that package for now. Also appears in "post-release updates" version
aka nvidia-current-updates.
