The screen outputs you posted showed everything
Hi Clausi,
It might be easier to use one of the other distributions or get another
screen.
piCorePlayer only officially supports the RPI 7" Touch screen
out-of-box.
There are some newer Waveshare screens that mimic the RPI 7" Touch
screen so they also work.
Some people have got other screens

Hi Paul,
this display cannot be calibrated. I have no idea how to influence any
touchscreen library. There is also existing a 5" resistive touchscreen
of Waveshare and in

Squeezelite installed from a Debian repository is likely to be a rather
old version. As long as it's working for you, that doesn't matter. But
if you encounter problems in
If the ethernet port is connected, it will be the port used for default
route. Which means that outbound connections will all go out the
ethernet port. But you should still be able to access it via the wifi
IP address.
What will not work is to boot with both ethernet and wifi connected.

You said that you unplugged the Ethernet before rebooting ... but it is
showing 2 IP addresses ... implying that the Ethernet cable was still
plugged in when it booted.
I try to connect to my NAS on my fritzbox. under 'Share Name' I can't
type in 'FRITZ.NAS', I get an error message 'Enter the name of the
share'.
it seems that picore does not allow the dot, but that is the name of the
share, all my non-picore boxes have access.

Yes I have tried to get to it at that address and it times out.
Here is what shows on
I think the issue is sharing of audio. Some application using ALSA ( on
say desktop ) can hog an audio device and so the squeezelite service
would fail. Pulseaudio is for sharing audio devices.

Can you connect something to the HDMI output of the RPi to see what it
says on the console?

Have a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB and have put in the Wifi settings and can see
available networks when scanning but still am not able to connect to
piCorePlayer after shutting down, disconnecting Ethernet cable and
turning Raspberry Pi back on. At a loss at this point so asking on here
for any ideas.
Well pulseaudio sits on top of alsa so maybe also was not completely
installed, I have had a quick search and found this

Well, initially I believe I had squeezelite alsa-version, as I installed
it with "sudo apt-get install squeezelite" but apparently this resulted
in squeezelite.service not actually running properly? I have no idea how
or why I had "active (running)" status that was in my first post
though.
What do you mean it cannot be calibrated. The calibration is in the
touchscreen library, not the screen.

Ah, you have installed squeezelite pulse-audio, whereas I always run
with squeezelite alsa.
I actually have a BBB, I bought it four or five years ago and it's still
unpacked
I don't know anything about BBBs though, or the software they run, so

Well, admitetly I've had no idea what I've been doing most of the time

changes actually made the difference. Since my previous post, I took a

Greetings!
Perhaps someone can point me to the right direction with the following
issue:
I am trying to use some Beaglebone Blacks as network music players using
squeezelite but for some reason squeezelite does not show up
automatically. Curiously everything works fine as long as I start
