Gustavo, You probably downloaded the wrong file. OpenOffice normally runs on a power PC. You need the Mac-OS version 10 and you must install the X11-program that can be found on the CD/DVD that came with you PC. I'm not a Mac-user so I can't really help you any further, but there are lots of

Having spelling dictionaries for several languages is not a problem. Specifying language for the text is huge problem - you would not get the same functionality as competing platform offers, where you press hot-key to indicate the language (or just type and word processor recognises the language).
