posting about Reveal Code to an
OOo mailing list isn't going to get the feature added to an upcoming
release. Unless I'm mistaken, very few OOo developers read them.

We are not beginners, we will not be fooled
in
each of them, especially if you give the styles meaningful names. In
fact, if you use the Next Style field on the Organizer tab for a style,
you don't even have to remember most of them.
In the end, this small bit of work will save you hours of time.

UTF-8 on
Linux, if it's not already used, and the article will be appearing on
Newsforge on February 6. I haven't bothered changing the locale on
Windows, since I rarely do use it these days, but I imagine that you can
probably find some instructions on the internet without much trouble.

What can I put in my sources.list to install these? I notice the
packages are organized differently so it's not obvious which packages I
need.
Apt-get calls on dpkg for installing and removing programs, so using
dpkg is the same as using apt-get.

you're taking a chance using that.
If OpenOffice.org must be available in only one format, at least it
could be openpackage, so that everyone would be on the same footing.

. Instead, the OOo packages have to be built with it. If you can't
wait for the official .debs, you might nose around the Debian-OOo site
and see if you can find instructions for doing it yourself.

Besides, since .debs can be made with relative ease, why not offer them
on the web site already made? That would certainly be more convenient.
Also, people have been asking for them off and on for over a year, but
the requests have apparently been ignored.
