But it is always best to get a consensus of more than 1 person :D.
If you're dealing with large-ish files, I'd go with XFS over any other
file system. More than likely though, you'll be bottlenecked by the
processor power of your machine, which drives I/O.

possibility though is to use the Host O/S tools to lower the VM's
priority. IMO, this is better than placing a cap: when there are
free cycles, the VM can have it, if not, it gets lower priority.

Also, simplify the problem: do not use the key at first. Once you
get everything working sans key, add the key into the mix. You _may_

found my VM's virtual size at 1.5GB. Yikes!

to defend my point: Vbox has a memory leak.
Frank, any comments? Do you need additional data? I'm more than
happy to let the process once again bloat and I'll capture any
`sar'/`top' data to prove the box is swapping - if that's required.
