AI still has the issues of normal speech synthesis. I was listening to the sample of one, and it couldn't tell the difference between the present and past tense of the word "read." They'll still have pronunciation issues, and I would never want it to read a Brandon Sanderson book. Just imagine:

Wi-Fi is certainly on. Sync library was not on the iPad, it is on my phone. So I turned it on on the iPad. And I am using iCloud as a back up. So I’m not sure how long it should take for that playlist to sync. I checked my iPad mini after turning on sync library and so far it hasn’t done

I get the feeling that some people here are comparing AI narrated books to those professionally narrated by the best in the business, as from Audible. But that is the wrong comparison. Firstly, for those reading nonfiction, you don't need a professional dramatic performance of a book.
