The other option is to locate the button that takes the picture, turn Voiceover
off, do what the app suggests in terms of positioning the camera, then finally,
pressing the button the one time to take the picture.
Once the picture is taken, you can then turn Voiceover on again, and you’re ok.

recommend that you experiment with this and each time that you get a scan
with a lot of gibberish just move the phone a little closer to your

set to Google and all other buttons are set to off.
I hold my iPhone about 12 inches above a page when I am scanning it. That seems
to be the optimum distance.

Actually, the KNFB Reader mobile requires you to hit a button while you are

Scott, thank you for responding. I will not delete the app in hopes of
future adjustments. It seems as if no scanning app on a mobile phone works as
well as larger scanners guess that’s to be expected. I will go write
