Double tapping the mini player at the bottum of the screen still brings up the full player and I can still see the time remaining in the book. As far as I know I have the latest update. I double tap the player without the book actually playing. You can also lock the screen while the book is

Hi!! I used to have an iphone 5s with only 16 gigs of memory too. I would just download the books I wanted to listen to and then delete them back off of the device. They just remain in the cloud until you download them again. However, it is possible to download the books on to an mp 3 player.
