I happened to watch some of the old Western movie "Horizons West" (1960) last
night. Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier) played the mother of a young Rock Hudson! This
is interesting because in the TAGS episode "Mayberry Goes Hollywood" Andy asks
Aunt Bee if Rock Hudson was her favor
In the episode, "Aunt Bee Learns to Drive", S6E21, after she accidentally
hits the tree, she damages the right rear of the car. She and the man from
the city go around to look at the damage, but when they get there, they're
looking at the side that's on front of the tree, not
I read somewhere that Madge Blake, the actress who played Larry Mondello's
mother on Leave it to Beaver was the first choice to play Aunt Bee. I am
not sure how true this is, but as I said, I did read that somewhere, but I
cannot recall where.

have read about Frances Bavier living in Siler City. Apparently she became
more and more of a recluse as she got older, almost never interacted with
anyone, and had a lot of cats.

episode when Aunt Bee is reading about Andy's "most capable deputy
Barney Fise". I noticed that Aunt Bee has what looks like a wedding
band on her left ring finger. Has this ever been discussed before?

Was watching a 1955 episode of The Lone Ranger. As The Lone Ranger & Tonto
enter a home there is Aunt Bee in a rocking chair. She and her two sons were on
the wrong side of the law. She played a mean tough woman and played it well.

Bee were true: that at first she really enjoyed her time there, and I
think even was the Grand Marshall of a big parade. But eventually, she

I saw Francer Bavier (Aunt Bee) on The Lone Ranger. She played Aunt Maggie. Not
to give away the ending, but this was a different role for her than sweet Aunt
Bee. Even Tonto tells the Lone Ranger that he would rather fight her nephew
than to fight her. The name of the episode is called

I have just begun reading an English mystery called *Brat Farrar* by
Josephine Tey.
The very first two words of the book are "Aunt Bee".
It is about Aunt Bee who travels to the English midlands to care for her
nephew, three sisters, and twin brothers.

While eating in a restaurant on Friday night I got to thinking about when
Aunt Bee was shown eating in a restaurant. I can only come up with three
times. One was when she and Emma were eating lunch in the drugstore when
the shoe salesman came in. Then she was seen eating spaghetti with
Happy Birthday to Aunt Bee. In the show where Aunt Bee took a job with the
counterfeiters, she states that her birthday is March 17. But she does not
mention the year. Like Andy told Opie "Oh, your Aunt Bee knows the day she
was born, it is the year she is a little fuzzy on".

I recently viewed the episode "Aunt Bee the Warden".Otis tries to escape "the
rock" by
hiding in the laundry service truck for a quick getaway.Aunt Bee has the driver
open the
back door of the truck and she commences to beat the bags of laundry in search
of Otis.

Aunt Bee had a number of "brief encounters" during her time on TAGS. I
often thought a great story line when she decided to leave the show was for
her to finally get married and find true happiness in a home of her home.
In Mayberry RFD she did get engaged to the cruise ship captain and
I think to simply the ongoing debate of the spelling of Aunt Bee or Aunt
Bea, she should have been Aunt B. I was always Mr. A. when I taught.
Parents still call me that when they see me. Just glad my name isn't
Peterson like my wife's maiden name.
