I find that Mailwasher does the best job screening out unwanted
emails, with the added advantage that you can look at them before
you have it bounce or delete anything.

Not external, but Sony's new entry solves the format confusion as
it works with all formats - DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW and CDR/
CDRW formats... and all for about $350. Just doesn't do DVD-RAM -
