I think you are assuming that they are using Fox and Hound with WSJT
flavours. They are more likely using MSHV which does not require odd/even

They just look like they are F/H but are just multi stream. You can work

Rx audio never stopped.
It was only Tx audio from USB Codec which flicked offline at random times.

It’s an audio issue – not a USB issue IMO.
No issue with CAT control. WSJT-X always hears the radio, but the PC output to

It’s more likely to be that extra layer involved.
WSJT-X is using the HRD Radio, and the HRD Radio is talking to the HRD Rig
Control app which is talking down the Com port.

I have a third behaviour. My trick of tripping Halt and Enable also
sometimes fails to bring the audio back. Tx still occurs but no audio is

screen overflows and you are looking for a particular station to work it often
takes too long to find the call in the list thereby missing out on calling it.

Perhaps with later versions of Windows (10 etc.), the Virtual Memory system has
changed.
So, can you check the program's memory usage, both real and virtual?
At the time I had to convince the developer, Virtual Memory is not limitless.

If it's a site near the car or maybe in a building etc, then yes the dongle
works well.
However if on foot while certainly not a major issue it's one more thing to
pack/carry, and to go wrong, plus of course it uses more of the scarce
battery power.
