I have a matrox G400 max and i downloaded the driver mga_hal on the matrox' website.
When i start the server i the the cross of my mouse during less than one second, which i'm able to move but then the server stops.

Eh, it was an unresolved symbol. Perhaps the nv_drv.ko is mismatched

file. You might want to recongiure you Video card configuration to use
the concerned resolution on your Monitor.

Looks like X died abruptly and didn't remove its lock... which is there
exactly for preventing you to start another session on the same display :-).
Just remove the file its pointing you to : /tmp/.X0-lock

You seem to be missing /usr/bin/cc
It's usually a symlink to gcc. This is a pretty standard thing
to have.
