Keeping this on the CCD, means that libtool isn't part of the core distro known as SUN Solaris (only on the SUN CCD). There isn't currently a reference OpenSolaris distro, but there probably will be one in some future time. Such a reference distro would also not have libtool (because the ARCs and such wouldn't allow it). Any other distro (based on OpenSolaris) could add libtool - as value added (or subtracted). They can prove libtool, just as the CCD does. Is libtool appropriate as a part of OpenSolaris **technology**? The question isn't one of distros. - jek3
