I've been observing this thread for a while, and here are my two cents worth:
Love the product. Easy to set up, etc... I've been running it on a 386 w/8MB boat anchor for a couple years. It was a little slow to boot, but effective for the dialup connection. Only trouble was that when DSL finally got in my neighborhood, they use PPoE, which STN doesn't do. I had to get a Linksys router to use instead, which seems to be a little less reliable than good ol' STN was. I recently took my router to a friend's house when his STN hardware took a dump, and the little 386 couldn't keep up with his DSL connection, and it shut down at one point -- something about an interrupt too busy. Hard drives are a dime a dozen (anybody want some?), so that's a very reasonable (cost-wise) way to go.
