Well ... I have never run into an ISP that could not support 128K ISDN
lines. This is just accomplished by the two 64k channels being bound
together ... every vendor I have worked with (bay, cisco, ascend,
livingston) is compatable with 128K ... I believe it is in some sort of
ISDN protocal standard (I'm guessing on that one .. not sure if it's a
standard).
And yes, normally the techs are pretty clueless when it comes to ISDN. If
you ask for the next tier when you call, you'll probably get better
service.
As far as equipment goes on the ISP side .. pretty much any name brand
stuff will get good performance .. I would be more worried about their
line load and upstream connection than I would their terminal server.
