I share Nick's concerns with the model. People whose skills are time-
intensive are more highly rewarded irrespective of the value of their
contribution to a project. It is sometimes the smallest input that
makes the greatest difference...very philosophical for a Monday
morning, I know!

I believe that all these issues could be avoided if the equity of any
projects created at startupcamp remained with a startupcamp NFP
organisation. Any proceeds should be used to help fund future camps,
training sessions, 'real' business ventures, etc. If people aren't
willing to share ideas on this basis then they (the ideas) are perhaps
not suitable for a camp that is "all about the journey"?

To avoid this conflict, perhaps the organisers of the camps should
themselves come up with the basic ideas and the attendees expand on
these and execute. Taking this a step further, perhaps all groups
could attempt to solve the same problem instead of creating 3 (or
more) different businesses. That introduces the concept of competition
to the camp, and the possibility of 'industrial espionage' ;)
