I agree, it seems very likely that the HIV virus is a good diagnostic tool, but does not cause AIDS at all. If you run the HIV test with full strength blood, it will show that everyone has HIV. Only if you have a weakened immune system does it skyrocket to the amounts you see with full blown AIDS. There is one article which I think has much merit that claims that AIDS is caused by parasites primarily in Africa, and benzene and benzoic acid in the US and Europe.
