It should be fairly straight forward.  Under "system logging" set it to debug.

It should tell you it needs to restart services.  Let it do so.

Then recreate the issue and go to Diag and then Snapshot.  Generate and 
download the snapshot.  Post it to the list and give us all the detail you can, 
like exact time of start and stop and extension on the call.

If your saying you do not see any logs being generated under /var/log/sipxpbx 
then your system has bigger issues. Or are you saying the merge doesn't do 
anything.

Worst case scenario just tar up the /var/log/sipxpbx dir.
