Hi,
Erm..I can look into it from mid September unless u have the thing from
Oracle settled. Unless u're using a Oracle database to serve up web pages, I
don't why u would want to use Oracle. As far as I know, Oracle is a RDBMs
and CAN be used to index/serve web pages if u have one of their fancy
plugins. Informix has a similar solution but is web orientated and been in
market for sometime.(the place I work uses it).
But but....why kill a fly with a ballistic missile? Those things are a
bloody nightmare to install and configure esp Oracle. Stick with Dig,
Alkaline(the guy is quite nice and he responds to your email) or one of
those other free ones is better. Clean, simple and has minimal maintance.
IFF, SLP gets a makeover down the road, then we change..(informix has
everything in a nice package). But SLP currently is static(right?) html, so
a simple solution will suffice....:) SW is suppose to solve problems and not
create them!!
Lionel
PS : oops...somehow a private mail got onto the list. Blame it on my Outlook
Express...;)
