I have never had problems with associating with the Cisco using Short Pre-
amble. We do see some weird (but acceptable) behaviour on hardcoded
SBTotals. If we change the cisco's broadcast channel, the ABTotals
follow the change, even though we thought we had hard coded all their
settings.. Not a biggey now, but strange behavior since the CPE's were
hard coded with all that info...

One thing of interest.. I did get a APPro to repeat the AP350's signal
but I had to have the Cisco Extensions turned on at the AP350. I know
y'all recommend turning these off, but from what we see, they are doing
no harm, and give us this added feature. Can you tell me why you
recommend these to be off (since most of the info in the extension is
above the protocol, and therefore will just be ignored (i think) by the
ABTotals?

Lastly, a comment on the Simple Monitor's controlling the PPPoE login..
I would much rather see bandwidth shaping capabilities on the CPE device
than this. PPPoE usernames/passwords are accepted requirements for most
end-users (especially since you will need them to have them, for off-net
mail usage), so having them type these in is no big deal.

BUT bandwidth shaping (limiting)at the CPE would be KILLER!! Think of
it.. the radio link will now not be jammed with traffic trying to get
buffered by the upstream system, and these dead packets would not clutter
my poor AP's. Broadlink in their deployment actually deployed Linux
servers in their client CPE's and ran a limiting software on them that
REALLY helped them get 60-120 users per AP. (Cisco's normally only
handle about 30). There packet loss retry ratio's were much lower then
what I get as a consequence and therefore get a much better use of their
available microwave transmission space.

If you are looking for recommendations...

Thanks for the help.

Scott
