[smartBridges] Question about Lightning Protection

Board We are operating off two towers We were using Oronoco AP1000 w/3-120 degee sectors on each tower We had a terrible lightning storm moved through Monday afternoon Our AP’s on the 300’ tower took a hit We were protecting the radios with PolyPhasers The lightning took the polyphasers out The radios are ok This is good, but we still had to go up 300’ on the tower The Trango 5.8 backhaul is located 10’ above the 2.4 antennas, they are ok When we went up there we replaced the Orinoco radios with smartBridges APPO’s We did install shielded cable however My question is this, is there protection you can put on the AP’s, that if they take a close lightning hit That will protect the radio but will reset after the lightning hit I haven’t seen any recommendations on any lightning protection from smartBridges, but I could have overlooked it   Thanks   Joe East Texas DSL -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]On Behalf Of smartBridges Tech Team Sent: Friday, June 20, 2003 7:21 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [smartBridges] QoS on SBTotals   We value your suggestion and feedback, it really makes us to improve our product better in functionality and performance. In future release, we will include this option together with multiple SSID support. In order to associate ABO with Cisco350 AP, please try to set the preamble to "long" and this setting automatically transmitted to ABO once associated. By default, Cisco preamble setting is "short". If you are having trouble in the association with ABO, then change to "short".
