Yes that was company provided info. The story was it was a change in the Atmel chip 
that was not
told to them.
They are attempting to fix a chip level problem with firmware.
I am sure they check every chip now to be sure it is the correct one.
How many problem units are still out there is a good question but with my luck I will 
get them.
