That would tend to make sense. If the problem is overheating
because of a timing issue, and it affects different parts of
the radio due to the heat, then you would want it cool when
you upgrade the firmware so that it's not in an "error" state
when you do it. Otherwise very strange things could happen.

So a sample procedure to follow would be,

1. Unplug the unit and let it cool for 30 minutes.
2. Plug it in and immediately log in and flash it
   with the patched firmware.
3. Unplug it for a minute or two.
4. Plug it in, configure it for your system and see
   what happens.
