Okay that makes sense and finally answers if it is compatible with he old chip. 
It is pretty obvious that it is having some sort of side affect. On the units 
you have there that you are testing are you associating to APPO's or something 
else? if in fact they are APPO's what firmware is on the appo's production or 
some form of test firmware?
