Oh by the way did you know that now also Lightwave besides The
Foundry is giving us a big discount to switch from Softimage to them?
Does this gives you a clue of what is coming?
Definitivley I would seriosuly start thinking of that second meeting
with the board, and stock holders that I told you.

Thank you guys
I am more cooled down now.
I would like this, as you said, gets out of this list and starts
spreading. I am just wondering where it would be good to post it,
so it can reach further and into the eyes of the stock holders, and
general public. That my bet is they have been decieved by the guys
who are afraid of loosing their big and fancy titled jobs at
Autodesk for such bad decisions they have made, and now they are
covering their asses by covering themselves into a big "finanacial"
smoke cloud by telling them:
"Ohh we tried, and Softimage is the responsible of making us loose
money, not our stupid decisions and acquirments we've made that we
are incompetent to further develop. Becuase we ripped their devs
team and put them into Maya. Because you know my fellow stock
holders...., Maya is the industry standard..."
If you want to start posting what I've mentioned in other places,
feel free to do it. Great things have been said in this list, and
I believe that all of our statements deserve to be heard, and not
kept behind the curtains like Autodesk did with Softimage.
Yes exactly, how odd is that just when Softimage is starting to gain
momentum again, even without branding/marketing, Autodesk once
again bury Softimage, but this time they burried it for sure,
instead of saying "Hey guys, finally after all of our trying, we are
getting there!"
And before we started all this riot, because maybe Autodesk thought
that we will be like sheeps been taken the slaughter house, will
simply say "Oh bad thing. Ok, we will start using Maya...", they had
this policy of "And you know sheeps, If any of you, plans on
sticking with Softimage after April 2016, you will be hunted by our
special butcher".
Autodesk claims that they have tried. I would like to know exactly
how they tried. @Chirs, I believe we are all ears if you want to
explain us how Autodesk "tried". And don't tell us "Oh it is
because Maya is settled in the industry being the standard tool".
Your hell suite AKA Inferno, Flame, Smoke, Flint was the standard
tool. Unitl The Foundry came out with Nuke.
I am planning on doing more unbiased videos comparing more workflows
to achieve the same in both softwares. Maybe this videos will reach
the eyes of the stock holders, and they will find how they have been
lied.
@Chris, You are listening, well, we are acting.
As Jordi said: You are still in a position where you can revert
things, and really get into track. First step to do so. Bring back
to us Softimage and really think into proper branding/marketing.
If you want to cover your asses, blame it on us. Tell the
stockholders that the Softimage community was relectuant to change
to Maya. That you tried.
Tell them also, that in a second analysis, you discovered that
instead of keeping the Softimage user base, we were stating to look
at other options, but none of them were from Autodesk products.
Tell them that the most you were worried about is that some of us
were seriously taking the option of going with a MODO-Houding
solution instead of Maya, others will not upgrade to Softimage 2015
because we will stick with Softimage, and that you are already
loosing pace against The Foundry and SideFX. So the most suitable
of the three DCC tools that you have to be a strong oponent with the
rescent events of what is coming, is that, if you develop further is
Softimage as besides being a 3D modeling, animation and rendering
production proven software (and then you pull out the PETA
commercial, Elysium, and The Lego movie), it also has already an
integrated comp solution, that with just with a little bit of
further development, you will be ahead of the Nuke/Modo solution
that The Foundry is coming with at a very fast pace.
You can close your presentation with your puss on boots eyes from
Shrek and tell them "We tried..."
So, I gave you an idea of another smoke cloud to cover you asses
again. But this time in the right direction.

That's the problem with big corporations (and governments): Not a
single person is ever responsible for anything.
Come on ... is not like he has the final say on things. Attacking
him personally won't solve a thing.
Let's all act like grown ups.
I curse AD as a company ... but as a company it has employees and
most of the time they don't have a fault on how things worked out.
Anyway ... just chill out on the personal attacks.

You are listening??
Ok, listen to your own bullshit:
"The first is to flatly call out that the rumor that the eol of
Softimage and 3dsmax is upon us is totally false."
"Cory Mogk is now also responsible for Softimage and we have been
working with the team on the future of the product with lots of key
customers."
"We understand people make their living from this software and that
they make huge decisions about their projects and companies and we
take that responsibility very seriously."
"Again the door is open to contact us or challenge us. Please let
everyone you know their products are safe."
So today, we can safely say you are a lying piece of shit. You have
no dignity, you have no character, and you have no word. I can't
imagine any developer feeling any pride anymore working for you or
this fucked up company. What you have done here and HOW you've done
it, is irreparable and you and your company is from now on going
downhill. You expect anybody to ever trust you or your company
again? Is that worth anything for a business? It's worth everything.
Nobody finds it in the least suspicious why SI was killed now? When
the whole community around SI and the nr of independent developers
working developing tools for it was at an all time high???
I don't know when you lost your balls and your word Mr. Vienneau,
but "good luck" regaining both.
Piece of shit.

While Dan's heart is breaking (and so is mine), I still have (at
least) one nagging question:
Clearly this has been under discussion for a while at Autodesk, so
why were the following comments
from September 5th of 2012 made:
"The rumor that the EOL of Softimage and 3DS Max is upon us is
totally false."
So, if I understand this correctly, what I get out of it is that
when Autodesk assures customers that their product is not on the
chopping block,
that statement is really only good for about a year and a half (less
if you take into account that this EOL must have been decided a
while back).
That doesn't imbue anyone with much confidence. I am not a 3DS Max
user, but if I was, I think I'd be worried, and would take any
Autodesk assurances that there was no reason to worry
with a very large grain of salt.
Can someone please, finally, address this?
Thank you
