George, Did there seem to be any pattern to the location of the pinholes (such as along the bottom of the pipe, or at the roll grooves, or at the pipe weld seams, etc)?

We did use new heads :) 2001 installation of Allied galv sch 10 at an office building west shore of Harrisburg, wood truss attic dry systems; After 3 years in service, with nothing done to the system but install, hydro, air test, acceptance test, drain and place in initial service- no ITM whatsoever- pinhole leaks tripped the system a few times and we ripped it all out and replaced it 3 years after putting it in service. Analysis indicated it was NOT MIC and, after the system was completely replaced at no cost to the owner (and no reimbursement from mfr) the property owner asked us to not bid their addition. Just makes you wonder what would it take to make them happy? Shoulda told em "One Year Warranty, have a nice day" but we did what we thought was the right thing to do. Just can't make some people happy, I guess.
