Although the cause of the fire is still under investigation, I am happy to
report that sprinklers did work. Several hotel rooms (unknown exact number)
had sprinkler activation as the EXTERIOR fire broke the windows and started to
work it's way inside. The sprinklers in these affected rooms did keep the fire
in check and only the furnishing along the exterior wall suffered fire damage.

FYI: The Monte Carlo is located outside of the City Limits of Las Vegas; Clark
Couty Fire Dept and the Clark County Building Dept are the responding agencies
and the AHJ.

Regards
MK

There are many conflicting reports. The most used story is welding on the roof
near the EFIS / stucco covering. This covering and portions of a mechanical
space are the areas the fire spread. It spread 'downward' by the falling EFIS
/ stucco material.
