Architect calls for a wood lattice with 1x8" boards vertical on edge spaced 7-12" apart 9-12" below the existing sprinklers in the 10ft high dropped ceiling. The lattice work is an obstruction to the sprinklers with only 7-12" above the wood grid. If I drop sprinklers below the lattice to avoid the obstruction sprinklers are 16-18" below the ceilings and there is no spray protection above the wood lattice. I would like to see the sprinklers 3-4ft above the lattice for best protection by removing ceiling tiles and installing upright sprinklers near the metal roof deck. If this lattice arrangement is understood please offer options for good protection.
