Oooh my God ! That is from the 110 / 220 / 380 vac time in Europe. In USA 120 / 240 / 400 vac I suppose
In Europe we have an INTERNATIONAL electricity network connection, its connect west European countries like Germany, Belgium, France, Holland, Spain etc.. to the same 380 Kvac and 150 Kvac transport network. Therefore all these countries are now using uniform 230 / 400 Vac power for household and industrial use. The steps are 120 vac , 230 vac, 400 vac , etc... there is a formula, but I lost it somewhere in my brain, I remember root of 3... As I said before we have TN or TT system in our houses, and both the insurance company (fire insurance is obligatory over here) and the electricity company DEMAND an inspection after building, and / or every 25 year and / or when the property is sold, by the selling owner. Most houses have 400 Vac over two phases and 230 vac over 1 phase and the neutral. Because of the STRIKT regulation, we almost have no 'electrical' fires. Back in the 70s when I worked as an electrician, although pretty much everywhere I worked had 120/240v available many old houses had only 120v 1 phase power. I made quite a bit of money changing out old 120v main fuse boxes to 120/240 breaker boxes. I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't still a lot of 120v services in the more rural parts of America.
