Brian , The safe approach to these rooms is always to enter them only to serve the sprinkler in that room . It keeps down problems of interpretation,etc. between the AHJ , elevatore inspectors , etc. As to the issue of having an approved drawing , most approval stamps are equipped with the statement of "subject to field inspection" whereas these items are normally found.
