the 470 is maximum temp the oven is capable of producing under any
circumstances, the normal operating temp is 350 degrees...
There is no VIABLE alternative to add 4 sprinklers and the Owner /
Engineer is ok with this arrangement.

500 deg heads in a 470 deg oven? That ain't gonna work. Do you know the upset
temperature of the oven? That is the max potential temperature before the

Even still 30 degrees is a bit too close for comfort IMHO. I'd probably
suggest a small deluge system since you can go with rate compensation type heat
detection or fixed temp if you desire and make it work. Otherwise this thing
could be going off all the time.
Is automatic suppression mandatory for the oven per code?

Subject: Re: partial egress system
Gotta put 500 degree heads in an Oven that is expected to get as hot as
470 degrees.... What do I do with the pipe that ties into the overhead
system...assuming the water will heat up for some distance and then
possibly affect the 200 degree uprights at the roof.
Help?
Thanks,
Greg
