Robert:

Where is that? I've got the 2006 and it references IBC, but not IFC.
A couple of occupancy specific fire flow rates are prescribed, as for
refueling facilities and parking areas, but there isn't a table or
matrix as we conventionally use.

Under UFC 3-600-01 the required fire flow for a sprinklered building is
the sprinkler demand plus the hose demand. The appendix does not apply
for sprinklered buildings.

I tried that but the FPE says that IFC is not applicable.

I believe that the UFC's reference the I-code set, so I would assume -
absent any compelling prescriptive otherwise - you'd use the table in
the IFC. The question is what reduction you can take for sprinklers.
Code says "up to" 75% with approval of the AHJ; obviously, most
municipal FD's offer 50%. What NAVFAC or another DOD AHJ will offer is
likely subjective and/or project-specific.

Anyone out there know how to determine the required fire flow for a
fully sprinklered building using UFC 3-600-1? Appendix C Section C-1
says "Use the following procedures to determine the required fire flow
demand and duration for buildings that are not fully sprinklered." It
doesn't say what to use for fully protected or am I missing something?
