Subject: Exhausters

During an annual inspection the Star - Model # BB Exhauster was found to be
inoperative. The exhauster is installed on a pre-action dry pipe valve. The
exhauster was rebuilt in April 2012. According to the sprinkler company parts
are no longer available, nor is a replacement available for this device.

The State of DE has a requirement for delivery of water to the inspectors test
within 60 seconds, no matter the size of the system. Even the quick opening
device does not deliver water in the prescribed time.

Does anyone have any solutions? Has anyone manufactured a listed exhauster to
replace the Star BB?
