I have been following this thread. I have to go shopping now and when I
get back I'll post my settings.

I'll have to confirm this, but I had previously noted something
confusing about my Squeezebox IP information. If I check the 'firmware
setup' menu, I see a local address (192.168.xx.xx). However, when I
look in the setup menu provided by my server I see something different
(I believe I see the WAN address). I noticed this before and it made me
wonder. (I need to confirm previous statments.)

Anyway, SlimChances, do not give up just yet. You will be probably be
able to solve this issue. I suggest you look in the setup/information
screens of your *gateway* to confirm or disprove the IP addresses in
question. Also, I agree with Mynb that your Squeezebox should be
assigned a LOCAL address. It is possible this is not happening.

To my way of thinking, ALL your local computers should be using DHCP
(optionally, with static IP reservations). So, I recommend checking
your other computers and ensure they are ALL obtaining IPs from your
router. (In other words, they do not have manually assigned IPs.) This
helps to confirm that at least your router is acting properly.

Since you previously mentioned IPConfig, it sounds like you know how to
open a command prompt. Try to PING your local Squeezebox IP address.
This will confirm the local address is what you think it is. Also, you
can shut down the *just* the server software, but keep your server
computer running. Not a solution, but will perhaps shed some light on
the situation.
