For what it's worth, I sometimes forget when my family is downstairs
listening to their Squeezebox radio, and then I download a large file.
That action interrupts their radio signal. I try to remember to check
before I download or do it after they've gone to bed. (I'm looking into
some router settings to make sure it can't interrupt them, but I haven't
been satisfied with my results so far.)

One other thing you can try at some point is to hook your Squeezebox
directly to your router with a cable.

Not a permanent solution, but it could help isolate the problem, if the
problem is related to the wireless somehow.
